As at November 2022 when I’m writing this, Marriott Residence Penang still incomplete yet. The estimated date of completion will be around Q3 of 2023.
As far as I know as at November 2022, no potential project will be directly in front of Marriott Residence other than the new Andaman Island by E&O which is quite some distance away and you will be able to enjoy the sea view and city view once Andaman Island is completed if you’re choosing full sea view 3 bedroom layout. (fully sold out by the developer, if you’d like to get the 3 bedrooms just drop me a text, I will update you the units available from secondary market when Marriott Residence is completed)
Another BONUS would be the Gurney Wharf project by Penang Government which would spend about Rm 200 million to further enhance the environment and property price of this area!

(Sorry for being biased). Yes, Marriott Residence shall be a very good project for own stay / own usage purpose for you. Reason? Well, it’s a hot spot and matured area where most of the foreigners and locals are looking after.
Walking distance to Penang’s famous shopping mall: Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon.
Is Marriott Residence Good for Investment ?
I think yes, Marriott Residence is good for investment and for your own usage too. Reason? Matured neighbourhood, attracted name of “Marriott” and the reason Marriott Residence is the most expensive property project as at November 2022 where it costs around RM 1,600+ per square feet onward.
How's the rental ROI for Marriott Residence
You can expect the rental ROI at 4% +/- for Marriott Residence due to its location and high quality building with the name of “Marriott”
Is it easy to sell Marriott Residence in the foreseeable future?
Despite of one of the highest cost per square feet building in Penang, I think it is relatively easy to sell Marriott in the foreseeable future because of low density, the reputation of the developer combined with the effect of “Marriott”. Still, as usual, my question will be it also depends on how much you want to sell.
My Personal preference & comment for Marriott Residence as an agent
Reason I’m biased towards Marriott Residence is because in order to get the brand name of “Marriott Residence”, the developer i.e. BSG Property has to match / meet the criteria given by Marriott. Marriott will be the one to “supervise” the quality completed and up to its expectation.
If you zoom in this photo, you will find that BSG Property is using the “red” bricks material where it lasts way better than common bricks and offers a higher load-bearing capacity.
